Russell F. Anderson

Russ is a corporate generalist attorney with a focus on supporting technology, market research and real estate clients. Russ’s experience and specific areas of practice include:

• Commercial Contracts: Assisting clients, often in an outside general counsel capacity, with reviewing, drafting and negotiating numerous standard commercial agreements. 
  
• Technology: As a Silicon Valley native with a deep-rooted interest in technology-related legal issues, Russ frequently reviews, drafts and negotiates license agreements for software and other forms of intellectual property (such as trademarks and copyrights) and other common technology contracts. Russ also advises both start-up and established on-line commercial ventures by drafting legal terms and conditions, user codes of conduct, and privacy policies. 
  
• Privacy: Russ regularly fields questions about the emerging and expanding web of state, federal and international privacy and data protection regulations, including questions regarding privacy policies and procedures; security breaches; regulatory inquiries; cross-border data transfers and processing; and email and telemarketing regulation.
  
• Residential and Commercial Real Estate: Counseling clients with real estate transactions in both commercial and residential contexts, including commercial and residential purchases and sales, leasing and subleasing and environmental compliance. 
  
• Mergers and Acquisitions/Financings: Helping clients structure and consummate purchase, sale and senior and mezzanine financing transactions. Transactions have included purchases, sales and financings of companies in technology, manufacturing, auto dealership, trucking, oil distribution and service industries. 
  
• Corporate: Formation and corporate governance of corporations and limited liability companies in numerous jurisdictions, including formation, governance and tax-exemption filings for non-profit foundations of a major national fast-food chain.

Russ received his undergraduate degree with high honors in History from Wesleyan University in 2001   He graduated in 2004 from the Marshall-Wythe Law School at the College of William & Mary.   He is a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations. 

Russ resides in Newtown, Connecticut with his wife and two young children.
